AGSA Eligibility Determination

Western Municipal Water District (Western) is a special district, created to provide water supply, wastewater disposal and water resource management to the public in both a wholesale and retail capacity, serving approximately 900,000 people, in western Riverside County. Western?s service area overlies a portion of the Riverside-Arlington Subbasin (DWR Bulletin 118, Basin No. 8-2.03), which is unadjudicated and designated as a high priority basin, for which Western seeks to serve as the GSA.

The Riverside-Arlington Subbasin (DWR Bulletin 118, Basin No. 8-2.03) is partially adjudicated under the Western-San Bernardino Watermaster: Western Municipal Water District et al. vs. East San Bernardino County Water District et al., Case No. 78426 ? County of Riverside. The Watermaster manages groundwater under the adjudicated portion of the basin. There are no other agencies that currently manage or propose to manage groundwater within the unadjudicated portion of the basin for which Western seeks to serve as the GSA.
  3. No new laws, ordinances, or authorities have been adopted by creation of the Western MWD Riverside-Arlington Subbasin GSA.
