AGSA Eligibility Determination

Widren Water District (the District) has intent to undertake sustainable groundwater management of a portion of the Central Delta-Mendota Subbasin (the Basin) as a Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA), The District is a public agency with water supply and water management responsibilities. The proposed District GSA management area is about 835 acres, or about 0.50% of the entire Basin (166,273 acres). The District will coordinate with all other GSA's in the Basin in the development and implementation of one or more Groundwater Sustainability Plans (each, a GSP). Among others, the District will coordinate efforts with the San Luis & Delta-Mendota Water Authority (SLDMWA) and other local agencies and interests in the Basin and intends to enter into memoranda of understanding or other form of agreement with these parties to coordinate the development of the GSP(s) for the Basin. An executed copy of such memorandum of understanding with the SLDMWA is available.
