  4. On June 13, 2017, the District conducted a public hearing on the decision to become the GSA after publication of notice in accordance with Water Code Section 10723(b). Following the hearing, the District Board of Directors adopted Resolution No. 17-38 establishing the District as the GSA for the portions of the Hollister and San Juan Bautista Subbasins located within Santa Clara County.   1. The Santa Clara Valley Water District considers all beneficial users in fulfilling its mission to protect and augment groundwater per the Santa Clara Valley Water District Act. With regard to SGMA-related decisions, the District will continue to conduct its business openly and transparently through publicly-noticed meetings of the Board of Directors, with opportunities for stakeholder input. The list of interested stakeholders includes water agencies, land use agencies, regulatory agencies, businesses, non-governmental organizations, and private individuals. Any person or entity can request to be included in this list to be notified of SGMA-related District Board items, opportunities for input, and relevant news.   2. There are no other agencies that are managing or proposing to manage groundwater in the Santa Clara County portions of these subbasins. The San Benito County Water District (SBCWD) is the GSA for the portions of the Hollister and San Juan Bautista Subbasins located within San Benito County. The District and SBWCD will coordinate on SGMA compliance and are developing a related Memorandum of Understanding.
  3. No new bylaws, ordinances, or authorities have been adopted pursuant to becoming the GSA.
