AGSA Eligibility Determination

  1. Pursuant to Water Code Section 10723.8, the County of Siskiyou hereby notifies the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) of its decision to become a Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA), and its intent to cover the portions of the Tule Lake Subbasin within the jurisdictional boundaries of the County limits that are not represented by another GSA. This notice is submitted in compliance with Water Code Section 10723(d).

  4. Siskiyou County published legal notices in the local newspaper, the Siskiyou Daily News, on March 21st and 28th, and held their public hearing on April 04, 2017. During this public hearing, there were approximately 40 members of the public in attendance and in support, and 10 people spoke to express their support to Siskiyou County.

  1. Siskiyou County has developed a list of interested parties and will revise the list as needed throughout development of the Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) development process. Siskiyou County will consider the beneficial uses of groundwater and groundwater users, including those responsible for developing GSP's. Siskiyou County will solicit feedback from interested parties, will keep the public and interested parties up to date and included in meetings and planning processes, will keep the Natural Resources webpage up to date with groundwater planning progress, among other outreach activities. The interested parties list includes, but is not limited to, the following: Agricultural users, domestic well users, municipal well operators, public water systems, local land use planning agencies, federal governments, State governments, California Native American tribes, disadvantaged communities, etc.
