Estimated groundwater pumped for remediation of contamination in the southern part of the subbasin from playa vista groundwater monitoring reports
Based on reported volumes in groundwater monitoring reports and extrapolated volumes for the third quarter of 2024 (last three months of water year 2024) for which measured data were not available at the time the water year 2024 annual report was prepared
C Surface Water Supply
Total Surface Water Supply (AF)
61,314
Methods Used to Determine
The total imported water used is estimated as the per capita water demand minus the groundwater extracted for M&I use. Groundwater extraction volumes were reported by the City of Santa Monica. Per capita water use is based on the weighted average per capita water use reported by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), the City of Santa Monica, Golden State Water Company, and the City of Beverly Hills.

D Total Water Use
Total Water Use (AF)
66,742
Methods Used to Determine
Total water use is the combination of reported groundwater extractions, estimated groundwater extractions, and estimated imported water use.

E Change in Storage
Method used to calculate change in storage
Change in storage estimates were calculated for each principal aquifer in the Subbasin using the Los Angeles Coastal Plain Groundwater Model (LACPGM) developed by the United States Geological Survey.
