  5. The KGAGSA members include 11 different agencies and organizations with vested interests in the Kern County Groundwater Subbasin. However, these 11 agencies have service areas that in some cases extend beyond the Bulletin-118 assigned basin boundaries. For this reason the KGAGSA members' service areas do not coincide exactly with the GSA area. Boundary's for KGAGSA were defined to include areas that would otherwise be unmanaged due to the fact that Kern County was a member of the KGAGSA and by definition the County's service area covers the entirety of the subbasin. Revised GSA boundary uploaded on 06/11/2018 is to coincide with a Kern River GSA boundary adjustment that both GSAs agreed to. Additional boundary adjustments were uploaded on 05/31/2019 to allow for modifications made to adjacent GSA boundaries. Additional boundary adjustments were uploaded on 11/29/2021 to allow for 3 member agencies to form their own GSAs. Additional boundary adjustments were uploaded on 01/26/2023 to allow for a member agency to form their own GSA. The KGAGSA is working on the updated GSP due by January 1, 2025 and is currently working with the other Kern subbasin GSAs on a Basin Study which will provide scientific data about water flows and native groundwater yield and thus has recommended that all its members become a GSA but remain a member of the KGAGSA. Thus an additional boundary adjustment were uploaded on 08/16/2022 to allow for 1 member agency to become a GSA. Additional boundary adjustments were uploaded on 11/03/2022 to allow for 2 member agencies to become a GSA. Additional boundary adjustments were uploaded on 01/27/2023 to accommodate a member agency to become their own GSA, leaving 3 remining member agencies. Another additional boundary adjustment was uploaded on 03/24/2023 to accommodate one more member agency to become a GSA, leaving 2 remaining members to request a boundary adjustment to accommodate their request to become a GSA. Of the remaining 2, one member is requesting to become a GSA with a new upload on 04/24/23. As of 08/16/23, the remaining member has requested to become a GSA with a new GSA boundary uploaded for review. This change does not impact the 11 existing KGA member units.
