Provide a description of your local agency's water supply, water management, or land use responsibilities within the groundwater basin / basins you intend to manage.
The SVBGSA is a joint powers authority consisting of a variety of local public agencies with water supply, water management and land use responsibilities. These include Monterey County, the Water Resources Agency of Monterey County, the cities of Salinas, Soledad, Gonzales, and King, the Castroville Community Services District, and the Monterey Regional Water Pollution Control Agency.

The SVBGSA intends to manage that portion of the Salinas Valley Groundwater Basin within the County of Monterey, including the portion of the Paso Robles area within Monterey County, but excluding the adjudicated Seaside sub-basin, and the area within the jurisdictional boundaries of the Marina Coast Water District and the City of Greenfield. Enclosed are GIS shape file of the jurisdictional boundaries of the Marina Coast Water District and City of Greenfield exclusions.
