AGSA Eligibility Determination

  1. The five (5) members of the East Turlock Subbasin (ETS) GSA include Eastside WD, Merced County, Stanislaus County, Ballico-Cortez WD, and Merced ID; listed in the order of groundwater use. Eastside Water District (EWD) has taken a leadership role in forming the ETS GSA, and as a water district has assumed water supply and management responsibilities for the 61,293 acres of land within its boundary. Through the newly formed JPA, these, land use, and other management responsibilities are shared with the other members within the entire ETS GSA boundary. The water and irrigation districts provide very little surface water and groundwater supply to agricultural customers within their respective service areas. Stanislaus and Merced counties have land use responsibilities in the unincorporated areas.
