Reclamation District 2106 is a California reclamation district formed under Water Code section 50000 et seq. with authority and responsibility under those statutes for acquiring property, acquiring and operating water rights and irrigation systems, and constructing, maintaining, and operating drains, canals, sluices, water gates, levees, and pumping plants (among others) for the reclamation of land and control of flooding within its boundaries. The District is committed to an open and inclusive process of implementing SGMA in the Butte Subbasin in coordination with other GSAs.

Prior to the formation of the Butte subbasin in 2019, the District service area and GSA boundaries were within the West Butte subbasin. As a result, the original decision to become a GSA and other supporting documentation describe the West Butte subbasin. Since the formation of the Butte subbasin, the District service area and GSA boundaries are now wholly contained within the Butte subbasin. This also applies to the Required Documentation in step E.1.
