Estimate
Other
Agricultural, private domestic, and other groundwater production in the Subbasin is largely unmetered and were estimated using the Eastern San Joaquin Water Resources Model, which bases water use on crop type, hydrologic data (precipitation and evapotranspiration), irrigation efficiency, and population information.
The estimates provided by the Eastern San Joaquin Water Resources Model have a qualitative level of accuracy of "Medium."

C Surface Water Supply
Total Surface Water Supply (AF)
505,518
Methods Used to Determine
The total surface water delivery data included here is agency reported surface water delivery data for agricultural, urban, and industrial water use sectors and estimated surface water use by riparian water rights holders. Use by riparian diversions is estimated using the Eastern San Joaquin Water Resources Model. Sources of surface water supply in the Subbasin include Calaveras River, Mokelumne River, San Joaquin River, and Stanislaus River.

E Change in Storage
Method used to calculate change in storage
Change in groundwater storage for the fresh groundwater layers is estimated using the Eastern San Joaquin Water Resources Model. This estimated value is what balances the water budget after all inflows and outflows are accounted for in the groundwater system. Through a systematic sensitivity analysis, the range of impacts of uncertainties on model calculations was quantified. Knowledge of this range of uncertainties can assist in providing flexibility in decisions that rely on model results.
