  SBCWD is cooperating with the Santa Clara Valley Water District GSA (SCVWD) for GSP preparation for the Hollister and San Juan Bautista basins. This is in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding dated July 5, 2017 and in compliance with the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA).

Please provide general information about the Agency's process for developing the GSP, including the manner in which interested parties may contact the Agency and participate in the development and implementation of the GSP as required by Water Codes §10723.4 and §10727.8

The San Benito County Water District Groundwater Sustainability Agency is proceeding with groundwater sustainability planning for the Hollister, Bolsa, and San Juan Bautista basins. A Communication Plan will be included in the GSP that describes how decisions are made as part of the GSP, how the diverse public will be engaged and informed, and how beneficial uses and users will be recognized. This Communication Plan will incorporate the basic approach of DWR?s Guidance Document on Stakeholder Communication and Engagement. Interested parties will be invited to a series of public workshops. A Sustainability Advisory Forum (SAF) will be organized to include individuals with relevant technical backgrounds; the SAF will meet regularly to review technical work of the GSP. GSP updates will be provided on the District?s webpage.
