AGSA Eligibility Determination

Provide a description of your local agency's water supply, water management, or land use responsibilities within the groundwater basin / basins you intend to manage.
The Santa Margarita Groundwater Agency is formed through a Joint Powers Agreement among the Scotts Valley Water District, San Lorenzo Valley Water District, and County of Santa Cruz. The two Water Districts extract groundwater from the Santa Margarita Basin and serve overlying landowners. The County of Santa Cruz regulates land use, issues well permits, oversees small public water systems, and conducts various watershed management efforts in the Basin.

Boundaries are different.Both Santa Cruz County and San Lorenzo Valley Water District include significant area outside the Santa Margarita Basin Boundary.
