AGSA Eligibility Determination

  1. The Santa Cruz Mid-County Groundwater Agency (MGA) is a Joint Powers Authority composed of the County of Santa Cruz, the City of Santa Cruz, Central Water District, and Soquel Creek Water District, with three private well owner representatives on the board. The individual agency members have permitting, management, and regulatory authority over water supply in the Mid-County basin. The City water department, Central and Soquel Creek Water Districts are the primary water suppliers for basin water users. The County is responsible for land use regulation, well permitting, flood control, water conservation, small public water system regulation (LPA), and watershed management. As members of the MGA they collaboratively manage the Santa Cruz Mid-County Groundwater basin.
