ERequired Documents

  1. Ojai Basin Groundwater Agency was designated in 2014 by SIGMA as a Groundwater Sustainability Agency. OBGMA is an existing groundwater management agency formed in 1991 and works with local agencies within the Ojai Basin. These agencies include the City of Ojai, Casitas Municipal Water District, Ventura County Watershed Protection District, the Ojai Water Conservation District, the Ventura County Resource Management Agency, the Ventura River Watershed Council and local mutual water companies in the area. These mutual water companies include Senior Canyon Mutual Water Company, Heritage Mutual Water Company, Gridely Canyon Mutual Water Company and Siete Robles Mutual Water Company. Since common watershed boundaries are shared OBGMA will also be working with the Upper Ventura River GSA once it is fully formed and functional. By its enabling legislation the OBGMA Board of Directors is made up of representatives from the Ojai Water Conservation District, City of Ojai, Casitas MWD, 1 member representing small water companies and Golden State Water Company. However, the Golden State Water system was recently purchased by Casitas MWD. Therefore the OBGMA Board of Directors will need to sponsor legislation to change the designation for the Golden State seat. 2. No other agencies will be managing water in the Ojai Basin.
  3. As OBGMA is an existing agency since 1991 there are no new laws, ordinances or authorities adopted by the agency other than those actions approved to become a groundwater sustainability agency contained in the attached file.
