General information regarding potential basin boundary modification process is posted or will be posted.
4. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POTENTIAL BASIN BOUNDARY MODIFICATION REQUEST
- The Sloughhouse Resource Conservation District (District) is considering and likely will seek a basin boundary modification of the boundary between the Cosumnes subbasin of the San Joaquin Valley groundwater basin (Basin ID# 5-22.16) and the South American subbasin of the Sacramento Valley groundwater basin (Basin ID# 5-21.65). The new northern boundary of the Cosumnes Subbasin would follow the SRCD, OHWD, and South Sacramento Agricultural Water Authority boundary along those districts' western boundaries and along the District?s northern boundary which coincides with Grant Line Road, and then extend generally northeast along the hydrologic watershed of the Cosumnes River. The District is coordinating its efforts with the Omuchumne-Hartnell Water District (which has also submitted a notification to DWR) in order that the two districts may submit a joint basin boundary modification request, or coordinated requests as appropriate. The District is currently conducting stakeholder outreach with other interested persons and local agencies regarding its potential basin boundary modification request. Additionally, the District is currently collecting data and information regarding the potential basin boundary modification. Consequently, the District has not finally determined the exact nature and supporting data that will be used to justify this basin boundary modification; however, the District currently anticipates that any application for a basin boundary modification will include strong jurisdictional and/or scientific reasons supporting the requested modification.
