4. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POTENTIAL BASIN BOUNDARY MODIFICATION REQUEST
  • The proposed scientific-based modification to the boundary of the San Diego River Valley Basin (Basin 9-015) is as follows: In places, portions of the San Diego River Valley Basin (Basin) as defined by DWR do not align with the alluvial limits of the Basin. The proposed basin boundary modification will update the San Diego River Valley Basin boundary using higher definition geology maps and other data sources to include improvements to more accurately depict the alluvial limits of the Basin. For example, there are areas where the alluvium is not matching the bedrock contacts and these will be corrected. The result will be a boundary that more precisely defines the areal extent of the aquifer.
