4. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POTENTIAL BASIN BOUNDARY MODIFICATION REQUEST

Templeton Community Services District (TCSD) on behalf of stakeholder in the Atascadero Area, is submitting this scientific basin boundary modification request to separate the western portion of the current Paso Robles Area Groundwater Subbasin (DWR B-118 basin number No. 3-4.06) to delineate the basin called the Atascadero Basin. This scientific basin boundary request consists of two parts: Modification Request No. 1 ? Update Extent of the Paso Robles Formation ? Updated mapping of the surface geology of the northern San Luis Obispo County completed as part of the Paso Robles Groundwater Basin Study (2002) redefined the groundwater basin boundary compared to Bulletin 118. More recent mapping conducted since the passage of SGMA has further refined the extent of the Paso Robles Formation within the proposed Atascadero Basin. This is considered an External Boundary Modification. Modification Request No. 2 ? Document the Rinconada Fault Zone as a Basin Boundary ? This modification request is intended to establish the Rinconada fault zone as a basin boundary of the Paso Robles Formation between the Paso Robles Basin and the proposed Atascadero Basin. This effort includes defining the extent of the fault zone as a basin boundary. This is considered Internal Boundary Modification
