Groundwater Level

Is water level data submitted to the CASGEM Program?
Yes
Does this watermaster collect or receive additional groundwater levels?
No
Does this watermaster measure groundwater levels?
No
Comment(s)
Groundwater elevation data is submitted pursuant to Water Code section 10932, therefore no additional groundwater level data is required. Water Code § 10720.8(f)(3)(A).

Change in GW Storage

Reporting Period
From 10/01/2015 To 09/30/2016
Change in storage (AF)
Method used to determine
Reported change in storage is a summation of the change in storage calculated for each of the four ULARA groundwater basins. In the San Fernando Basin, the change in the storage is estimated by calculation using the measured change in groundwater elevations from multiple monitoring wells distributed throughout each basin using methodology similar to the methodology described in the Report of Referee. Then, the existing groundwater flow model developed for the San Fernando Basin is qualitatively used to corroborate the magnitude of the calculated change in storage. In the Verdugo, Sylmar, and Eagle Rock basins, the change in storage value is determined by calculation using the measured change in water levels in the basin (depending on the availability of sufficient water level data from monitoring wells), or by calculation using the annual native safe yield published in the Report of Referee compared to the groundwater extracted during the Water Year.
