• The County of San Luis Obispo is exploring a potential basin boundary modification for the Los Osos Valley Groundwater Basin (3-8). The County initiated this process at the request of the Los Osos Groundwater Basin Management Committee (BMC) – a committee formed by the Stipulated Judgment in Los Osos Community Services District v. Southern California Water Company [Golden State Water Company] et al. (San Luis Obispo County Superior Court Case No. CV 040126) (see Water Code Section 10720.8(e)) approved by the Court on October 14, 2015. The BMC is comprised of representatives from the Los Osos Community Services District, Golden State Water Company, S&T Mutual Water Company, and the County of San Luis Obispo. The basin boundary modifications would likely include scientific internal and external modifications. The basin boundary modification will likely consider hydrogeologic conditions that indicate a need to remove areas with limited hydraulic connection (e.g. southwestern coastal dune area south of faults, eastern portion valley), extending the western boundary across estuary to the Pacific Ocean coastline, and making minor necessary refinements along northern basin boundary.
