4. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POTENTIAL BASIN BOUNDARY MODIFICATION REQUEST
  • Carpinteria Groundwater Basin has been the subject of many geologic study beginning in the 1940s and has been defined (geologically) to extend to the east into Ventura County and to the west into the Toro Canyon area. Bulletin 118 shows the basin generally correct on the northern and eastern boundaries however the western boundary appears to be an estimated jurisdictional boundary between Carpinteria Valley Water District and Montecito Water District. The boundary as shown bulletin 118 is neither the geologic or jurisdictional boundary.
