4. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POTENTIAL BASIN BOUNDARY MODIFICATION REQUEST
  • The Heritage Ranch Community Services District Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA) is submitting an initial notification to the Department of Water Resources (DWR) to request a scientific, external, exclusionary basin boundary modification for the Paso Robles Area Sub-basin (Bulletin 118 Basin No. 3-4.06; “Paso Basin”). The Nacimiento River valley between the Rinconada Fault system and the Nacimiento dam is a small alluvial valley west of the Paso Basin, and is only connected to the basin by the surface water streamflow of the Nacimiento River. Based on our review of existing published reports and geologic maps, as well as our current scientific evaluation efforts, there is compelling technical and scientific data supporting a scientific modification to exclude the portion of the Nacimiento River valley west of the Rinconada Fault, from the Paso Robles Area Sub-basin.
